BELTANE

Cynthia Grove

Midnight whirling in an open sea

Of mayhem and madness

Our hearts are free!

Moonglow piercing the evening stars

As they drop from the sky

Or speed afar!

Love is enrapturing our hearts, our souls

Everything phallic it seems to show.

Your arms around me no time no space

Capturing my soul in an endless embrace.

An embrace of love, of pleasure,

It speaks

This Beltane moment, this sensuous beat.

Our beings whirling toward an unknown portal

That will take us to other worlds

That will make us immortal!

GODDESS SCENT

Incensed air fulfills the night
Shredding threads of pale moonlight
Transient stars caught in flight
The chants enthrall with sweet delight.

Blessed shadows of Imbolc Eve,
Combined with past and present weave
All the secrets yet untold
The oil of freedom embalms the soul.

Candles burn as spirits spark,
The fire surrounds accepting hearts
And rampant auras mystify
As the sweetened scents of Goddess abide.

Dancing madly in sheer delight,
You sacrifice your fear of night
Now the sacred Spirit sent…
Now the night of Bridget spent.

Embracing all, rejecting none,
The moon encompasses the sun
And life is sweet mid winter’s eve
Yielding promise of spring ecstasy.

SUMERLAND

Now is the time to fade away
Into a place of Night and Day
Into a long and distant land
Through time and space, I reach for your hand.

Tread softly through the clouds of history
Into the worlds of mystery.
Into a land of pleasant flowers
That holds no minutes, that holds no hours.

Now is the time to fade away
Along a Path, brightly we sway
Along the sea of endless night
Into a land of colours bright.

Towards the stars, across the moon
Beyond a bright and blue lagoon
A promised land foretold by the Goddess
She calls you there to live among us.

Now is the time to fade away
And fulfill the spirit’s right to stay
Her promise kept now and forever
Forever young, mid lavender and heather.

Oh Sumerland, Oh land of Night
Beyond the Stars we take our flight
Take my hand and come with me
Beyond the everlasting sea
Into a land of ecstasy.

ODE TO THE GODDESS

Her moon is bedded in the evening sky
Shimmering stars stare paralyzed
Her Universe complete and fertile
Consummated in light eternal.

Hail Goddess bright, eternal mother
One song sung completes the other.
In unison the voices rise
They swell above and reach the skies.

Great Goddess, Lover, Mourner, Mother
Virgin, Maiden, wizened Crone
Earthly names describe your role
You steal our hearts and heal our souls.

Thunderous, rampant, violent drumming
The sphere of life is overcome
By power, might, yet gentleness
As we are soothed within your breast.

You stand a Queen amongst the stars
We behold our Lady from afar
Yet deep within you exist in us
Your sweet embrace fulfills our trust.

MOONBEAMS

Ascending stars, mid rapid waves
Of rampant tides and gentle sways,
Descend upon my fearful heart
To soothe the beast and ignite the spark.

Planets raging through the sky
Of mind and soul, mid alibis
Of excused intentions, and reasons how
One chooses not to proceed right now.

Then seemingly, without a goal
The lightning strikes your inner soul
And bares the wounds that would not heal
With savage tearing, and thunderous peal.

The gentle rain of Love’s caress
Of humankind and quietness,
Salves the pain of the cancerous growth
Till the spirit heals beyond control.

And now, mid calm and gentle breeze,
Through starry nights, I lie with thee
One in spirit with the Universe
‘Mid dancing moonbeams, we compose Life’s verse.

EVENSONG

Moonlight treading on an open sea
Of sapphire sky
Transparent clouds in rhapsody,
Amid evening lullabies.

Shimmering diamonds of lucid stars,
Confront the onyx night
While exotic planets, eons away
Exult the pale moonlight.

Twilight wishes and evening dreams
Blending in unspoken prayers
Midnight secrets, within passion’s sonnets
Meant only for lovers’ ears.

Mother’s songs and children’s wishes
Rise in tender unison,
Alongside gentle caresses and tousled tresses
Of angel hair, within fairies’ lair.

Night time treasures, in classic measure
With Heaven and Nature adorn,
The soul of Dark, they beckon us “Embark”
On a voyage through Evensong.

A FULL MOON RITUAL/DEDICATION
TO THE GODDESS DIANA LUCIFERA

Hail Luna, Lady of the Moon
Diana, bearer of Light
Blessed be the name Selena
Hecate, guide me till the end of my life.

Oh sweet Goddess, I pledge you myself
May the Moon you rule surpass my humble limits
As the starlight drifts down within my soul
I become yours, you make me whole.

Dearest Goddess of Life, Ruler of Death
I sweetly inhale the scent of your breath
Which forms the aura surrounding my being
You protect me; embrace me, mighty Goddess, all seeing

Hail sweet Diana, upon this night
I rest in your arms, while my soul takes flight
My heart is consecrated to the radiance you shed.

On this moonlit night, the worlds become one
The moon encompasses the sun
The earth gives forth a song of praise
All loving Goddess, tis moonglow we raise.

Blessed Be
So Mote It Be
By the Triple Goddess
I abide by the Rede.
