Morrighan was one of many Protégés of Scathach [British warrior woman]. Morrighan is mother to Owain, wife to Urien and daughter of Shadowy Avallach. She was the teacher to those who had to learn responsibility and control, but also encouraged those especially her son to their known destiny through guises. She was challenging but also loving and compassionate, as well as a voice of power.
She is the guardian of all the lands and is there for those who take responsibility and have control of both their feminine and masculine aspects. She teaches us how to connect to our own empowerment within our Self, not over others, in teaching us to accept Death as a journey to Underworld. There knowledge is gained and transformation is undergone of the deepest mysteries we will ever experience. We are taught that through challenges and hard work we become stronger and to accept hard times as growth and in that we become stronger and prosper for all our sacrifices and struggles. Ultimately, we learn and understand our masculine side of Self. We learn when it is needed and how to use it to help others learn responsibility and control. We are all Her protégés. She does not seek us, we seek Her and only then will she appear in our lives to teach us. There are many lessons she teaches and I believe that only when one is truly ready shall our being seek her out for the lessons we are to learn and knowledge we are to gain.
Morrighan is not far removed from Ceridwen in her attributes, as she too is associated with the Cauldron of Rebirth, knowledge and those who train under Her, undergo great transformations. It is like the story of the shaman and going deep into the woods to strip bare all things that once were of us. We accept transformation as an act of cleansing and allow all things that are un-necessary to be striped away, even our own skin to be transformed to someone new and full of life. This is a form of rebirth. It would be similar to that of the Cauldron of Ceridwen as in the same we seek to gain knowledge and learn in order to transform and overcome. In essence accept Death and Rebirth. Only then will we transform from what we have learned.
Morrighan is the Caller of Strife, War Goddess, and when Her crows caws, those
who hear it shall die in battle then be eaten raw by Her crow. She is the Keeper
of Fates, and some associate Her to the Valkries of the Norse Tradition. Morrighan
is connected with the Storm Moon and the time of Rebirth, in this aspect she
is seen with her Cauldron of Rebirth, then later as an aspect of a Triple Goddess
and being triple within herself is connected with the Harvest Moon and the Feast
of Divine Life/Herfest/Autumn Equinox, which is held on September 21st.
As taken from Sirona Knight’s Moonflower
“The beautiful Death Mother, Morgana, embodies the ancestral qualities of the Blood Moon. As Goddess of fertility, magick and war, she represents the tripled triplicity or the Ninefold One. Healer, herbalist and shape-shifter, the awesome Sea Goddess Morgana is often depicted as the ruler of nine sisters on the Fortunate Isles, also called Apples Isle of Avalon.Daughter of the Sea God Llyr, Morgana moves fluidly like an amorous sea mermaid and sinuous river goddess. She appears as both a young maiden and as an ugly hag. Associated with Faeries, the Goddess reigns as the Queen of Death and rules the Underworld and rebirth, and all the gifts therein.
The young and sexy Goddess Morgana appears with a fair or ruddy complexion. Her eye coloured a rich, dark brown, deep green, or blue-black, and her hair streams behind her in jet-black or crimson black waves. The Goddess moves among the cypress trees along the shoreline, wearing wine-red, purple, indigo, or black flowing robes. You may find her picking up seashells before transforms into a magnificent raven or sleek, cunning crow.

For recipes for the feasts and ways to celebrate and prepare offerings to Morrigan,
get Pagan Feasts Seasonal Food for the Eight Festivals, by Anna Frankin. Her
feast day is the Autumal Equinox/Herfest, but many including myself associate
her to the Blood Moon and Samhain, so those foods too would be appreciated.
Incense for Morrighan is created by Lady Ivy Rhiannon.
Scottish Myths and Legends, by K.E. Sullivan are full of Barding that tell of stories of crows, witches, seas and much more.
Note: This is an on going project in which I am only beginning and seeking to learn under Morrighan and learn of the Underworld from her forth aspect asthe Black Maiden in order to gain knowledge and empowerment within myself of the Underworld and Death. I will be later adding on Pathwork and Ritual that will sacred to her and her manifestation. I have been very drawn to Her lately and am seeking out to learn from Her, and she has come to me in many ways that are not to be completely revealed at this time. I will say I feel Her Power in me daily as I seek her and her knowledge.
